What devices does Energy Atlas support?

Energy Atlas is designed exclusively for Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 2.0 or later. Apple Intelligence features require visionOS 26.0 or later.

How do I interact with the globe?

You can rotate the globe using drag gestures. Tap on any pin to select a country and view its detailed metrics. Use the control panel to change years (2005-2022) and select different metrics.

What do the pin colors mean?

Pin colors represent quintile rankings. Dark blue indicates the lowest 20% of countries for the selected metric, progressing through light blue, white, orange, to red (highest 20%). Pin height shows the actual value as a percentage of the global maximum.

How do I use the 3D chart?

Toggle the 3D chart from the control panel to see all countries plotted across three dimensions: power consumption (X-axis), energy use (Y-axis), and greenhouse gas emissions (Z-axis). Your selected country appears as a larger sphere. Enable log scale to better visualize countries with different magnitudes.

How does the Apple Intelligence feature work?

The AI Insights panel uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to answer questions about the energy data, trends, and country comparisons. All processing happens locally on your device - no data is sent to external servers.

Where does the energy data come from?

The app uses publicly available data from the World Bank and other authoritative sources, covering energy consumption, power usage, and greenhouse gas emissions from 2005 to 2022 for 137 countries.

Why can't I see some features?

Apple Intelligence features require visionOS 26.0 or later and Apple Intelligence to be enabled in your device settings. Ensure your Apple Vision Pro is updated to the latest software version.

How do I mute the ambient music?

Use the Audio toggle at the bottom of the control panel to mute or unmute the ambient background music.
